What can peep through as we inch into warmer and “happier” season
As the weather starts to change and first signs of spring peep through- many of us may be more aware of feelings of loneliness and sadness-it is not just tied to the winter months.
I could see the differences being downtown, more people are outside and the city streets feel loud again with the energy that comes with spring and summer months.
Here are some gentle reminders:
- Emotions are ALWAYS valid:Enough said!
- Connection takes time and intentionality: It’s not about the number of friends you have but the ways in which you feel loved and cared for by those who support you.
- Community can grow in unexpected places: Sometimes we can feel a part of a community, and that can be an important start to building confidence and feelings of support. It can come from spaces that you would least suspect, like a yoga class with an instructor who supports your physical wellness or an art class with students who share your interests)
You are not alone in this experience: It takes time to sometimes work through difficult emotions and also takes time to build relationships that help us feel good and supported. You deserve to surround yourself with positive energy and with people who truly care!
