If you’re a student entering your first wave of exams, papers, and assignments, we want you to know…You got this.

Yes, it’s crunch time, but taking care of YOU in this process is just as important as your studies. Building in even a few minutes of “you” time can go a long way.

🧠 Here are 3 small practices that support your focus and wellbeing:

  • Engaging in anything that can bring some relief-even make you smile (e.g., a short walk, a time to sip on your favourite beverage) can open up more space for your focus and concentration. As emotions improve your ability to take on more learning goes up!
  • Sensory tools can be helpful when it comes to being distracted and needing to regain focus (e.g., fidget toys of choice that you can use your hands with, music you can listen to, a short clip you can watch can be a game changer)
  • Moments of pause, when you take a breath (literally), can help minimize your impulsiveness to respond to things that may be frustrating as you try to juggle multiple You want to protect and preserve your energy as much as you can. If things are getting in the way of your focus, take a couple of minutes to step away to minimize acting out of emotion first.

Taking care of yourself doesn’t need to be intense—it just needs to be intentional.

At Crosstown Psychology, we support students in creating wellness routines that work in real life. Not more pressure. Just practices that feel doable and restorative (even on your busiest days).
